(Gas Metal Arc Welding)

Expand your welding repertoire with this course in Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW). Building upon the foundation laid in previous SMAW coursework, students will turn their attention to the process of GMAW. Safety protocols specific to GMAW will be rigorously stressed, ensuring students possess a comprehensive understanding of safety practices prior to engaging in hands-on welding activities.

Participants will learn processes, equipment, & key variables associated with GMAW. The role of the welder in visual inspection & quality control will be thoroughly examined, emphasizing the importance of meticulous attention to detail in achieving superior weld quality. Weld size & profile will inform each project, guiding students towards precision & excellence in their work.

Skill-building exercises encompassing all welding positions on mild steel ranging from 3/8” to 1” thicknesses will solidify students' understanding & proficiency in GMAW techniques. Through hands-on practice & theoretical instruction, participants will emerge as competent GMAW welders, ready to tackle diverse welding challenges with confidence & precision.

Our courses meet the requirements for credit & can qualify for credit transfer as shown below. Please note - transfer of credit is always at the discretion of the receiving school.
