CLASS D EXAM PREP

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Northern Industrial Training, LLC is an approved third-party test provider for the state of Alaska for Class D vehicles. The exam is given by an Alaska Division of Motor Vehicles Certified Examiner.

CURRICULUM

The State of Alaska Driver Manual describes all of the skills required to pass the road exam. It is recommended that you review the manual before taking an exam. The Driver Manual can be found online at: https://dmv.alaska.gov/media/t5ef5vi2/dlman.pdf

CERTIFICATIONS OR CERTIFICATES

Upon successful completion, students have the opportunity to obtain a driver’s license. This will be available at any Alaskan DMV for 1 year after completion.

LENGTH OF COURSE

1-Hour option:

  • 30 minutes of instruction
  • 30-minute road exam

2-Hour option:

  • 90 minutes of instruction
  • 30-minute road exam

PREREQUISITES FOR ENROLLMENT

  • 16 Years of age or older
  • Permit held for a minimum of 6 months (unless over 18)

COURSE COST

1 Hour: $125
  • 30 minutes practice
  • 30-minute exam
2 Hour: $225
  • 90 minutes practice
  • 30-minute exam

It is the applicant’s responsibility to secure funding or provide payment for any training-related costs. Licensing fees are collected by DMV and are not part of tuition.

NIT vehicles will be used for training and testing.
An applicant may provide their own vehicle for the exam portion only, as long as it meets the standards set by the DMV for road exams, and proof of current insurance and vehicle registration is provided in advance.
