Course Overview
This course offers an introduction to the basics of woodworking tools & materials, with an exploration of the art of crafting finished pieces & a glimpse at how to establish a foothold in the field. Students bring a creative approach to the shop, with a strong emphasis on safety & craftsmanship.
Learning Outcomes
Students start with the basics of safety & awareness in the wood shop & expand their endeavors from that central foundation. Students will learn the proper use of:
- Hand tools
- Power tools
- Stationary shop tools
- Clamps & fasteners
- Adhesives
- Wood & other building materials
They will improve their craft skills through practical demonstration & execution. Students will bring their knowledge to life by creating from scratch their own personalized & functional projects in the shop.
Resources
Appropriate clothing for woodshop. PPE will be provided.
Each course is eight weeks in length, and tuition cost is $500 per course.

Our courses meet the requirements for credit, and can qualify for credit transfer as shown below. Please note – transfer of credit is always at the discretion of the receiving school.
